Joint Service in Japanese at Meito Church

We’ve tried to stay involved in the other churches here in Nagoya, especially the Japanese language services and churches in our little group. The band played for a joint service held earlier in 2008, but we were all lucky enough to host the joint service at our building this time, and the band once again played.

We had an excellent turn out for attendance, probably around 40 people, and for me, and the band in particular, it was an honor and much fun to do.

I’m looking forward to our church, and the band, participating more with the other churches in 2009.

Here are a couple of photos:

Here’s a video clip of one of the several songs that Jimmy Junishi helped to prepare for that service. The first video is of “Amazing Love”, a song we’ve played around with in English a few times, but our first time doing it in Japanese. The second song is new to me, have only heard it in English a couple of times, and again, first time for the band to perform it. It’s the song “Still” (I think?) done in Japanese. Apologies that my mic stand is right in front of Jimmy’s face throughout, but the glare from the window behind the piano meant there wasn’t any other place to set the camera and for me to still be able to reach it while we were playing the music.

Special thanks to Jimmy for his hard work in preparing the music for this.
